This week sees two energetic and passionate mining students explore the Iluka Resources Cataby Mineral Sands Project – from where they live to where they work.
A guided tour will be provided by Grounded Construction over the course of a day, from the story of the camp to the massive structures producing rutile from sand. Challenges faced and overcome will be a talking point as we aim to show and explain to these students the reality of mining construction and its problematic nature of remote location.
“I am proud to be the founding sponsor of the Young Professionals and looks forward to building awareness of career pathways available to future generations in the mining industry”
Paul Natoli – Managing Director
“As an engineering student, exposure to real projects is essential for the development of knowledge, skills and experience. Grounded has given us the opportunity to visit one of their sites. We were able to see different stages of the material processing, visit camp accommodation and facilities and have unlimited questions answered. Thank you Grounded, it was a great experience!”
Florencia Contzen – Engineering Student
“Grounded Construction was kind enough to organise a visit to the Iluka owned Cataby mine site. Myself and a fellow student were taken to the mine and the accommodation camps nearby to get first hand experience which will aid us in writing our Thesis. I really appreciate the time and effort that went into the organisation of this trip.”
Phillip Norton – Engineering Student
