Grounded Construction Group has been engaged to design, supply, and install a 220-room accommodation village for MGM Group’s workforce near the Port Hedland International Airport. This greenfield development aims to address growing demand for worker housing in the Pilbara region.
The scope of works includes:

Accommodation Units: Construction and installation of 55 modular four-bedroom buildings, each featuring ensuite bathrooms, furnishings, and necessary utilities.

In-Situ Buildings: A fully built dining hall with kitchen and bar facilities, fitness/recreation centre, administration block, laundry facilities, ablution building, and BBQ shelters.

Infrastructure & Utilities: Construction of detailed earthworks, civil drainage systems, car parks, pathways, and access roads. Services include potable water storage and treatment, wastewater and sewer systems, fire water supply with hydrants, electrical systems (transformers, generators, lighting), and underground communications infrastructure.

Landscaping & Ancillaries: Installation of outdoor recreational zones, gazebos, alfresco seating areas, and robust landscaping to complete the village.

Logistics & Site Management: Grounded is responsible for material mobilisation, workforce facilities, and adherence to environmental and safety regulations.

Key elements also include compliance with cyclonic wind standards, quality assurance requirements, and commissioning/testing of all installed systems. This village will provide essential infrastructure to support 220 personnel, ensuring functionality, safety, and comfort while facilitating efficient operations in the region.
